WHAT IT CORRECTS

What Blepharoplasty Addresses

Eyelid surgery is precise. It addresses a short, specific list of problems, and Dr. Kluska will tell you plainly if yours is on it.

Upper Eyelids

Removes the loose skin that folds over the lid, hides the crease, and in some cases sits on the lashes. The incision is tucked into the natural crease, so the scar hides itself. Patients with significant hooding sometimes notice better peripheral vision afterward.

Lower Eyelids

Removes or repositions the fat that creates under-eye bags and smooths loose skin below the lashes. When bags are the only issue, the incision is placed inside the lid and leaves no visible mark at all.

Both Together

Upper and lower lids are often treated in the same session. One procedure, one recovery, and a result that reads as a whole rather than half a fix.

THE PROCESS

What to Expect, Start to Finish

1. Consultation

Meet Dr. Kluska at our Commerce, Buford, or Monroe office. He examines your eyelids, asks about your vision and health history, and walks you through what he recommends and why. You leave with a clear plan and clear pricin

II. Surgery Day

Eyelid surgery is performed in our own surgical suite under local anesthesia with IV sedation. You are comfortable and relaxed, not under general anesthesia. The procedure usually takes under an hour, and you go home the same day with someone to drive you.

III. The First Week

Expect swelling and some bruising. Cold compresses and head elevation handles most of it. Discomfort is mild and managed with over-the-counter medication. Sutures, if used, come out within about a week. Most patients return to desk work and normal daily activity within a few days to a week. Bruising fades over the first two weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

The best way to find out is through a consultation. Generally, good candidates are in good overall health, have realistic expectations, and are looking to address specific aesthetic concerns that haven't responded to diet and exercise.
Eyelid surgery is performed in the office at Aesthetic Arts with local anesthesia under I.V. sedation.
The procedure normally takes less than one hour. Upper and lower eyelid surgery may be performed at the same time; however, either can be done independently.
Upper eyelid surgery is performed by making an incision in the natural crease of the eyelid. Excess skin and fat are removed through the incision, which is closed with fine sutures, thereby minimizing the visibility of any scar. In lower eyelid surgery, the incision is made in an inconspicuous site along the lash line and smile creases of the lower lid, or more commonly on the inside of the eyelid. No visible scar results from this type of procedure.
